Project Description

Based in Chennai, India, this trip would be an opportunity to share with local believers and also take part in camping ministry.

*Update* 24 March 2020.  Due to the COVID-19 crisis, and restrictions placed on travel by the Australian government, the decision has been made to cancel the Encounter trip to India.

Even if you have had a lot of experience travelling, there is something special about experiencing India. The rich colours, cultural diversity and yummy curries are all extremely memorable..

Experiencing India, however, won’t be the only memorable part of this Short Term Mission Trip. Experiencing what God is doing in India also promises to leave lasting memories as well.

The primary goals for the Encounter India Short Term Mission Trip is to:

  • expose you to what God is doing in India,
  • equip local Church Planters,
  • evangelise University students, and
  • encourage the local church.

After initial training and orientation, the team will spend the first 6 days in the bustling city of Chennai equipping Church Planters and encouraging local churches. After which the team will travel to the Nilgiri Hills for a 4 day adventure camp. Whilst camping in the scenic Nilgiri hills team members will have the opportunity to build relationships with University students and share the gospel as the opportunity arises. The mission trip will conclude with a debriefing time where team members will share how they have experienced God at work in India.
