I wasn’t sure what to expect last year when I went to the Philippines as a GLO student, and to be honest I felt I wasn’t going to be very useful while I was there. I didn’t think that I had a useful skill set; I prepared the talks I had to but didn’t know what I had to offer personally.
When we were there we did a lot of talks, kids programs and walking around handing out tracts. Everything went really well but I still doubted why I was actually there, I was watching the team and thought they were doing a great job. I was still getting to know God’s word.
I was able to tell them about the relationship we can have with God
One afternoon we had a street program and walked around telling the people there about Jesus and I had a few people come up to me and questioned me about what the difference is from being brought up as I was and being a Christian following Jesus, and I was able to tell them about the relationship we can have with God. At first I didn’t think I was going to be able to be used in any way but, who am I to say what I can and can’t do when He is the Creator? He knows my strengths and my weaknesses and will use me accordingly.
